Welcome to my class blog! I'm so excited to be your child's teacher this year! A little about myself...
I was born and raised in a small town outside of Savannah, Georgia. Growing up with two younger brothers usually made me the go-to baby sitter and homework helper from the time I was in 3rd grade on through high school. After becoming involved in a volunteer organization that worked with local elementary schools, I knew I wanted to be a teacher!
I attended Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. After graduation, I moved back home to Savannah, where I began my teaching career. I spent a year teaching preschool at a Montessori school, where I learned even more valuable, first-hand information about child development and the importance of getting to know the families I work with each day. After leaving the Montessori school, I moved into public education. I spent the next five years teaching Kindergarten and Fifth grade in the Liberty County School System. In February of 2016, my husband's unexpected work transfer landed us in Cobb County! This will be my second year of teaching at Kennesaw Elementary, and I'm so excited to be a part of the second grade team!
My husband and I live with our cat, Savannah (named after the city we both love) at our home in Kennesaw. I love reading, shopping, and coffee, and my favorite place in the world is the beach! I'm so excited to be a part of the "Kennesaw Family" and I can't wait to get to know all of you better! Let's have a great year together!
